Sleep apnea...few people know what it really is. I had two sleep studies, where I slept overnight and had wires and things all over the place. After reading the results, the physician pronounced me as having "obstructive sleep apnea". Well I knew I snored, because my partner would sleep on the couch many nights because of my snoring. But little did I know that I had a disease which raises my blood pressure and puts stress on my heart. It also causes sleepiness and depression during the daytime because REM sleep is deprived. Here's a link to a great little movie about sleep apnea.

I apparently have to use a breathing machine and mask to force humidified air into my throat for life.
